De Lijn, Flanders’ public transport provider, faced a critical moment in their operations. With a legacy system that no longer met the demands of modern mobility, they needed a robust, future-ready infrastructure.
From ticketing systems to passenger connectivity, every element required precision and innovation. The stakes were high: ensuring reliable service for millions of passengers while optimizing internal processes.

The Solution
In 2011 Tesla Networks stepped in as a trusted partner, embodying excellence, innovation, and dedication. Acting as a quality control officer for De Lijn’s new ticketing and on-board computer systems, we established a cutting-edge test lab and vehicle service management teampositioning it as a hub for knowledge and development.

In 2014 we expanded our collaboration to deliver mobile connectivity across the entire fleet of buses and trams. This network provided secure, seamless connectivity for De Lijn’s internal back-office systems. Additionally, Tesla Networks introduced wireless access for passengers on trams, enhancing the travel experience and ensuring De Lijn stayed at the forefront of customer- centric transport services.
In 2020 Tesla Networks was asked to support the project team with the integration of contactless bank card readers on the vehicles.

But our partnership didn’t stop there. Together with De Lijn, we participate in the designof the new network infrastructure of the future on board of the vehicles—an intelligent data centric system built for scalability, reliability, and innovation based on modern ICT standards
